  • Part 1:

    In Advanced Cardiac POCUS - Part One, we will focus on the septic patient. We’ll discuss how POCUS can aid in diagnosis and enhance the speed and effectiveness of treatments in this critical scenario.

    Our second webinar on Advanced Cardiac POCUS will focus on the patient presenting with dyspnea. Our experts will discuss how bedside ultrasound can assist in the diagnosis and treatment of various conditions such as diastolic dysfunction, valvular disease, effusions, and others which lead patients to present to the emergency department with acute shortness of breath.

    The third and final part of our series, Advanced Cardiac POCUS, focuses on the patient presenting with chest pain. We will discuss detecting wall motion abnormalities, understanding coronary distribution, performing strain analysis, and evaluating the patient with a possible aortic dissection.

    Assistant Chief of Emergency Medicine, Professor of Emergency Medicine

    Dr. Rob Reardon is an expert in emergency airway management, emergency medicine, and critical care ultrasound. He has authored numerous book chapters and articles on ultrasound in emergency medicine and critical care, and lectures on the topic throughout the United States and internationally.

  • Dr. Tom Pahl, EMPA

    Physician Assistant

    Dr. Tom Pahl is a highly experienced and certified Physician Assistant specializing in emergency and critical care medicine, with a strong focus on ultrasound applications, trauma management, and medical education. He is a published author in ultrasound texts, teaches ultrasound courses, and is the vice-chair of the MN State Trauma Advisory Council.
