Our goal is to use technology as a catalyst to help South Africa achieve its healthcare transformation—improving efficiency, quality, and standardization across the board, so that more South Africans can enjoy longer, healthier lives.

Wu Hao

President of Mindray

Mindray is deeply rooted in South Africa. In 2014, the South African subsidiary of Mindray was formally established in Johannesburg, though its presence and impact date back even further. Today, Mindray serves both the public and private healthcare sectors across the country—providing medical devices, digital solutions, and long-term service support.

In the public sector, Mindray maintains deep partnerships with leading institutions such as Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, one of the largest hospitals in the world. In the private sector, Mindray has built long-standing relationships with major private hospital groups including Life Healthcare, Mediclinic, and Netcare—consistently contributing to the upgrading and enhancement of South Africa's healthcare delivery.

Beyond equipment and solutions, Mindray has been an active contributor to local academic development and clinical education. Mindray has co-established the Respiratory School at Universitas Academic Hospital, and founded the Ultrasound Training School and Pelvic Floor Research Center at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town—the very institution where the world's first heart transplant was performed. These initiatives provide hands-on training and clinical guidance to local sonographers and physicians, helping to build a sustainable talent pipeline.

This landmark visit marks the beginning of a new and deeper chapter in Mindray's collaboration with South Africa. It reaffirms Mindray's commitment to transforming cutting-edge innovation into accessible, tangible healthcare support—and to working side by side with local partners to build an efficient, inclusive digital health ecosystem that brings quality care within reach for more communities across the nation.
