Mindray has launched its BeneFusion i Series and u Series infusion systems featuring high precision, adaptive customization and extraordinary simplicity for guaranteed levels of medication safety in a variety of clinical settings. The new series will be available in selected countries and regions.

First introduced to patient care in ICUs over 35 years ago, the use of infusion pumps has now become mainstream for a wider range of medications all over the globe, with the adoption rate increasing from 35% in 2005 to 88.1% in 2017 [1]. The new generation of smart pumps, for their advanced features to reduce medication errors, streamline workflow and improve cost-effectiveness, has seen greater potential in endoscopic, obstetrics, oncology, emergency departments, and more.

Safe Operation at Ease: Customized, Visible and Efficient

When it comes to administering different drug regimens in varied specialized care units, clinicians find it hard to process the fixed medication types and complicated parameter setting process among conventional pumps. Targeting these issues, the BeneFusion i/u series supports customized dose management with a dedicated drug library that enables drug storage with international drug color-coding standards. By employing the reliable personalized drug library, clinicians are able to optimize infusion therapies and improve clinical efficiency in different care units.

Designed with an intuitive full touch screen, the BeneFusion i/u series adopts flat designs presenting critical parameters and a personalized large font view displaying key information, providing a clear view for clinicians from three meters away. A clearer, bigger, and more intuitive design helps to facilitate precise and safe operations for medical personnel.

Safe Medication Powered by Innovative Technologies

Safe medication relies on the precise and accurate delivery of an infusion system. BeneFusion i/u series supports nurses to deliver better patient outcomes with industry-leading accuracy of iSP ±1.8% and iVP ±4.5%. Besides, in clinical practice, it is also challenging for nurses to choose suitable tubes among various brands for patients with personalized infusion needs, especially during busy hours. With the help of Smart accurateTM technology, nurses can monitor continuous drug infusion rates and receive real-time feedback for timely correction of flow rate deviations, further ensuring the stability of accuracy for long-period infusion therapy.

During the process of syringe loading, unintentional drug boluses may occur. BeneFusion i/u series’ BolusGUARD motorized syringe loading system introduced the patent automatic clutch technology to prevent these errors, making each syringe loading more effective and safeguarding the whole infusion journey for patients.

Reliable Device Management and Data Analysis via M-IoT System

Being compact, light, durable, and utility enough to well satisfy varied clinical environments and requirements, the BeneFusion i/u series features easy device management and data analysis via Mindray’s M-IoT system as well. The M-IoT obtains maintenance information from all connected equipment, providing statistical analysis on distribution and usage in various departments. In this way, devices are under reliable maintenance to provide maximum support for clinical procedures. In addition, clinicians are able to upgrade the drug library and brand library from the central monitoring system without interrupting the current infusion therapy. The calibration data can be easily copied via a USB drive, providing a seamless device management solution for devices across the hospital.
