At the symposium, Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu highlighted the remarkable progress in healthcare systems in both Türkiye and China over the past 25 years. The unique healthcare system in Türkiye bridges the urban-rural divide with a nationwide network of 1,500 hospitals, nearly 30,000 family medical centers, and numerous medical professionals—ensuring that every citizen, from city centers to remote villages, receives free, high-quality, accessible, and digitally supported care. The Türkiye Ministry of Health aims to reduce the disease burden through preventive care, enhance public health with innovative treatments, and expand domestic manufacturing in the medical sector to ensure sustained progress. The Minister also acknowledged China’s remarkable and innovative advancements in medical technology and equipment, as exemplified by companies like Mindray. He highlighted that by leveraging our shared priorities and unique strengths in healthcare, this partnership would create win-win results and advance public health in both nations.

I believe our relationship transcends the marketplace, evolving into a true win-win partnership. I look forward to Türkiye and Mindray working closely on localized manufacturing, digital and intelligent transformation, industry-academia-research collaboration, international medical exchanges, and talent development. We exchange not only medical technology and equipment, but also a shared vision for the future of healthcare.

Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu

Türkiye Minister of Health

Mr. Kewen Xu, General Manager of Mindray International Sales and Marketing, extended a warm welcome to the Minister and his delegation and highlighted Mindray’s long-standing partnership with Türkiye. Mindray first entered the Türkiye market in 2000 and now has two branches in Istanbul and Ankara, with 90% of its staff being local employees, serving more than 1,300 medical institutions across the country. Mindray is deeply aligned with the Türkiye Ministry of Health’s new vision, and looks forward to further deepening cooperation through digital and intelligent transformation, as well as localization.

Since launching its “Devices + IT + AI” ecosystem in 2024, Mindray has implemented innovative solutions worldwide, including in Türkiye. Over the years, Mindray has also adhered to the strategy of “localization of talents, platforms and manufacturing,” continuously improving its response and support for healthcare needs of Türkiye.

Moving forward, Mindray will continue strengthening its partnership with the healthcare system of Türkiye through digital intelligence and localization, to jointly tackle challenges and create a brighter future.

Today, Mindray’s patient monitors, hematology analyzers, anesthesia machines, defibrillators, and ultrasound systems hold leading market positions in Türkiye. Mindray’s innovative products have been adopted by over 90% of major university hospitals in Türkiye, including Gazi University Hospital, Akdeniz University Hospital, and Ege University Hospital. Additionally, Mindray’s IT solutions—represented by the M-Connect and MIOT systems—provide efficient IT services to four major private hospital groups in Türkiye. The achievements of this bilateral cooperation are extensive.

Notably, Mindray’s cooperation with Türkiye medical institutions has further promoted international medical exchanges and talent development.

In November 2024, The West China Hospital of Sichuan University and Istanbul University School of Medicine signed a memorandum of academic cooperation, dispatching the first batch of exchange students this year. At the same time, Mindray and West China Hospital officially established the “Belt and Road” Exchange Center for Medicine in Türkiye.

Mindray supports more than 100 medical exchange activities in Türkiye every year. In 2024, Mindray partnered with Gazi University Hospital to establish the “Global M-Elite Ultrasound Training Center,” supporting advances in ultrasound technology and education.

Following the 2023 earthquake in Türkiye, Mindray responded immediately by donating $200,000 worth of medical equipment to the Türkiye Ministry of Health and provided ongoing support for post-disaster hospital reconstruction. These efforts played a key role in strengthening the healthcare infrastructure in Türkiye.

Following the 2023 earthquake in Türkiye, Mindray supported the post-disaster reconstruction of multiple hospitals, including those in Kahramanmaras, Gaziantep, Hatay, Adana, Adıyaman, Malatya, and Osmaniye.

The visit of the Türkiye Ministry of Health delegation marks a new chapter in our bilateral cooperation, further deepening mutual trust and laying a solid foundation for jointly addressing global health challenges and improving regional healthcare accessibility. We are committed to seizing this opportunity to jointly build a healthcare ecosystem that transcends national borders, delivering tangible benefits to both populations and advancing healthcare for all.
