The groundbreaking ceremony of Dangshan Mindray Medical Technology Industrial Park was successfully held in Dangshan County, Anhui Province on April 28.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Yang Jun, secretary of Suzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC, Ren Dong, member of the Standing Committee and executive vice mayor of Suzhou, Jia Ailing, director of the Office of Suzhou Municipal Government in Guangdong, Tang Ming, secretary of Dangshan County Committee of the CPC, Qin Xiaoming, deputy secretary of Dangshan County Committee of the CPC and Mayor of Dangshan County, Wu Yunfeng, chairman of Dangshan County Committee of the CPPCC and Chen Li, deputy secretary of Dangshan County Committee of the CPC. It was also attended by Li Xiting, chairman of Mindray, Cheng Minghe, vice chairman, Guo Yanmei, executive vice president, Liu Laiping, chief executive officer, Lin Jieying, general manager of supply chain, Li Wenfei, secretary of and office director of the Board of Directors, and other leaders from company.
Move forward together for common development
At the groundbreaking ceremony, Cheng Minghe, vice chairman of Mindray, Tang Ming, secretary of Dangshan County Committee of the CPC, and Ren Dong, member of the Standing Committee and executive vice mayor of Suzhou, delivered speeches for the project; Yang Jun, secretary of Suzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC, announced the official groundbreaking of the industrial park. Mindray and Dangshan County agreed that both parties would join hands and forge ahead together to leverage their respective strengths for long-term development under the principles of mutual benefit and reciprocity.
Cheng Minghe, vice chairman of Mindray said in his speech that as the medical device market was continuing to expand, Mindray had witnessed the changes in industrial demand during its development. In response to the changing environment, Mindray has persistently deepened industrial cooperation to introduce the high-end medical manufacturing industry to Dangshan County. This has been done to
promote the transformation and upgrading of local industrial structures and to fulfill its commitment to “driving rural revitalization with industrial revitalization.” Thus, long-term development and win-win cooperation with Dangshan County can be achieved.
A landmark in Dangshan County, a new witness of Mindray's progress
Dangshan Mindray Medical Technology Industrial Park is located in Dangshan Economic Development Zone, covering a total area of about 298 mu and a gross floor area of approximately 200,000 square meters. The modern precision machining plant is scheduled to start production in the first quarter of 2023; all supporting facilities and the international conference center will be delivered for use at the end of 2024.
Upon completion, the park will become the fourth largest manufacturing base of Mindray in the world, covering the orthopedic field, producing high standard bone nails that meet the specifications of human implants, providing core components for other bases through precision machining and conventional machining, and supporting the assembly of various main business products. As an important part in the supply chain of the group's products marketed to the world, the base will help the group's products to become globally leading with its sophisticated maching technology.
Li Xiting, chairman of Mindray, said that Mindray’s investment in Dangshan County is not only because it has a responsibility and emotion to develop its hometown, but it values more the broad space for development and late-development advantages in the county. In recent years, Dangshan County has seized the strategic opportunity of integrated development in the Yangtze River Delta region to focus on building a cluster area that undertakes industrial transfer in northern Anhui. The construction of Dangshan Medical Device Industrial Park will promote the development and growth of the healthcare industry and facilitate the high quality economic development in the county.
The construction of Dangshan Mindray Medical Technology Industrial Park is an important milestone in Mindray’s development and Dangshan’s economic development.
