Mindray @EAES 2024: Advancing Academic Insights and Innovations in Minimally Invasive Surgery

2024-06-19

From June 11th to 14th, 2024, the 32nd European Association for Endoscopic Surgery (EAES) International Congress convened in Maastricht, Netherlands, gathering global experts in the field to explore cutting-edge technologies reshaping the future of surgical practices.

Sparkling Academic Insights with the Latest Technological Advancement

As part of its participation, Mindray hosted the symposium "Giving Surgery Foresight," which brought together leading academic voices in the field.

Dr. Umberto Bracale, Professor of General Surgery at the University of Salerno, highlighted the extensive applications of Indocyanine Green (ICG) in digestive surgery.

His insights covered critical areas such as lymph node mapping, identification of anatomical structures, assessment of vascular perfusion, and innovative techniques like urethra visualization during transanal Total Mesorectal Excision (TME) and ureter identification to prevent injury. Dr. Bracale underscored the pivotal role of these technologies in enhancing surgical precision and highlighted ongoing developments, suggesting that machine learning could enhance real-time analysis and reduce surgeon bias.
