Mindray wins 2nd prize of National Science and Technology Awards

On Nov 3, 2021, Mindray was awarded the second prize of the 2020 China National Science and Technology Awards for Invention, for the fluorescent dyes in hematology analysis we co-developed with Dalian University of Technology.

Mindray and Dalian University of Technology have worked together to solve complex technical problems encountered in hematology analysis. Focusing on the relationship between molecular structure and the performance of targeted fluorescent dyes, the two parties developed a new fluorescent dye design, innovating the concept principle, and targeting function expansion and industrial application. The collaboration led to the successful development of advanced targeted fluorescent dyes with a patent.

The patented fluorescent dyes are adopted for the SF Cube 3D analysis technology on Mindray high-end hematology analyzers including BC-6800Plus and BC-6000 Series. SF Cube is an innovative technology of blood cell analysis for Reticulocytes, NRBCs and WBC 5-Diff counts, with effective flagging of abnormal cells such as Atypical Lymphocytes and Blast Cells, as well as RBC Fragments and Lipid Particles.

SF Cube 3D analysis technology

Based on this patented fluorescent dye technology, Mindray continues to innovate and has achieved many breakthroughs in this field, developing a series of high-end hematology systems over the years.
