On July 8th, the successful conclusion of the 2nd West China Forum on Women and Children Health marked a significant milestone in Chengdu, China. The forum centered around the theme of Conversations on Maternal and Child Health, Collaborative Pursuit of High-Quality Development, and brought together over 3,000 esteemed experts and scholars in obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, and over 700 medical institutions from across the country. Moreover, it was honored to host approximately 140 hospital administrators and nearly 40 international guests from countries including Croatia, Belarus, Ecuador, Peru, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Together, they engaged in insightful discussions on the emerging dynamics and trends in the global maternal and child health field.

Academic Exchange to Boost the Industry Development

Throughout the forum, attendees actively engaged in profound discussions and knowledge sharing across ten distinct topics, including Advancing the Development of High-Quality Specialized Hospitals, Strengthening Academic Construction and Personnel Training in Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Pediatrics, and Communicating on Specialized Medical Technologies in Maternal and Child Health, and etc.

Capitalizing on the participation in the forum, the international expert delegation embarked on visits to the West China Second Hospital of Sichuan University as well as the Sichuan Provincial Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital. These visits served as invaluable opportunities for enabling the delegation to gain firsthand insights into the innovative practices and advancements.

During their visit, the Southeast Asian delegation delved into in-depth discussions on the Standardized Chinese Ultrasound Training System and the Advancements in Pelvic Floor Ultrasound Technology with the experts from the West China Second Hospital of Sichuan University. These guests commended the Chinese ultrasound training system for its "remarkable reference value" and were impressed by the well-established development of pelvic ultrasound technologies in China, supported by extensive multi-center projects. Many experts also expressed their enthusiasm for future collaborations to undertake similar multi-center research projects with Mindray.

Meanwhile, experts from Ecuador and Peru engaged in comprehensive discussions with clinical physicians and sonographers from Sichuan Provincial Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital on topics such as the Hospital-wide IT Network, Intelligent Ultrasound Diagnosis in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Enhancing Diagnosis and Treatment Efficiency for a Large Case Volume. The Ecuadorian team noted that the intelligence of Chinese hospitals not only improves efficiency but also saves manpower. Among these, the experts were particularly inspired by the implementation of Mindray MiCo+ IT solution in the hospital. On the other hand, the Peruvian experts were impressed by China's remarkable achievements in maintaining low maternal and neonatal mortality rates, despite its vast population.

Furthermore, the overseas expert delegation also visited Mindray's headquarters and the Guangming manufacturing center. The tour left a lasting impression on many experts, who were deeply impressed by Mindray's extensive enterprise scale, as well as the quality and effectiveness of its products and solutions.
