No, the probe is its own hotspot (which is crucial in urgent, mobile critical care settings, such as on helicopters and ambulances). The only time Wi-Fi is needed is for sending or transferring images.
No, there is no subscription plan associated with this probe. All costs are at the time of purchase. Any app updates will happen through the typical update pattern in the App Store.
The TE Air e5M supports seamless data sharing. Images and cine loops can be exported in standard formats (JPG and MP4), and it integrates with DICOM 3.0 (Store, Media Exchange, Worklist); as well as third-party solutions like Q-path, Tricefy cloud, and shared PC folders. Data encryption is built in, with no subscriptions, locked features, or cloud dependence.
The TE Air e5M and i3P Systems can be charged with its USB Magnetic Transducer Charging Cable or via the Air Capsule. Using fast cable charging, the probe charges from 0 to 90% in about 35 minutes.
The TE Air e5M and i3P Systems feature IP68 level waterproof and dustproof design and can withstand complete immersion with compatible disinfectants. Please refer to the complete disinfection manual for more details.

The TE Air e5M uses advanced piezoelectric crystal technology, not chip-based transducers. It is powered by Mindray’s Matrix Thin Slice technology, which delivers a broader frequency bandwidth than traditional arrays. This enables the TE Air e5M to cover 22 exam types with excellent clarity, from superficial to deep anatomy, providing true whole-body versatility. Whether performing vascular access and MSK injections in private practice, conducting full RUSH protocols in emergency medicine, or teaching in fellowship programs, clinicians can rely on uncompromised imaging quality wherever care is delivered.
Though the TE Air e5m appears to have a linear footprint, depending on the preset you choose, this handheld is powered by Mindray’s Matrix Thin Slice technology, which provides broader frequency bandwidth compared to traditional transducers. The transducer will switch between linear and convex settings to scan head to toe without the need to switch transducers.
TE Air e5M is designed to work with modern iOS and Android devices. For iPhone, it requires an Apple A10 processor or newer, iOS 13 or above, at least 128 GB storage, 2 GB memory, and a display of 4.7" or larger. iPad compatibility starts from Apple A12 with iOS 14 or above, 64 GB storage, 3 GB memory, and a 7.9" or larger display. For Android phones, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 or newer with Android 10 or above is required, along with 256 GB storage, 8 GB memory, and a 6.41" or larger display. Android tablets need the same processor and OS version, 256 GB storage, 6 GB memory, and a 10.5" or larger display. Meeting these specifications ensures seamless use of the TE Air app and reliable imaging performance.
On a full charge, the TE Air e5M provides 90–120 minutes of operation.
The TE Air e5M supports B-mode, M-mode, Color Doppler, Power Doppler, Pulsed Wave Doppler, and Tissue Doppler (TDI). It also includes advanced features like iClear, iTouch+, iNeedle, Smart Bladder, VA Grid, Smart Calc, iWorks workflow protocols, and iScanHelper tutorials.
The TE Air e5M includes 22 exam presets, covering cardiac, abdominal, thoracic/pleural, OB/GYN, vascular, urology, MSK, nerve, and small organ applications.
