Dr. Arun Nagdev

Dr. Arun Nagdev is the Director of Emergency Ultrasound (POCUS) at Highland Hospital/Alameda Health System in Oakland, California, and is an Associate Clinical Professor at UCSF. A pioneer in point of care ultrasound, he founded the Emergency Ultrasound Division at Rhode Island Hospital/Brown University in 2005 and has led Highland’s POCUS division for over 15 years. Dr. Nagdev is the founder of Blockheads – an organization that teaches clinicians how to incorporate ultrasound-guided regional analgesia into multimodal pain control. He has authored over 120 publications, contributed to 25 book chapters, and is a sought-after speaker at major conferences. Recognized with numerous accolades, including SAEM’s Researcher of the Year in 2016, he also created the regional anesthesia website  highlandultrasound.com and writes for ACEP Now.
