Mindray donates medical devices worth 45 million RMB to Suzhou to actively facilitate good quality medical resources accessible to local primary hospitals

On 24 January, Mindray donated medical devices worth of 45 million RMB to Suzhou through the Red Cross Society of Suzhou in Anhui Province. This batch of medical devices has helped to advance the testing levels and capacities of local primary hospitals.

Lay out medical resources reasonably to let ordinary people get diseases treated near their homes

The overall short supply and uneven distribution of quality medical resources represent a major challenge in the healthcare sector of our country. It causes patients to seek medical treatment across regions and pay increased medical bills, which is more noticeable in Anhui, a province in the central part of China. As Suzhou is located at the junction of Shandong, Jiangsu, Henan, and Anhui Provinces, the problem of patients seeking cross-provincial medical treatment is more evident in this city.

At the donation ceremony, Wang Qirong, deputy secretary of Suzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC, mayor, and honorary president of the Red Cross Society of Suzhou, expressed his great respect and heartfelt thanks to Mindray for its loving care and charity.

Li Xiting, Chairman of Mindray, said that the group would hopefully contribute to the improvement of medical services in Suzhou through this donation so that people in his hometown could share medical services brought by high-end technologies.

At the donation ceremony, the Red Cross Society of Suzhou awarded the “RCSC Dedication Medal" to Li Xiting, chairman of Mindray, for his important contributions to COVID-19 prevention and control of the Red Cross Society of China (RCSC).

After the meeting, Li Xiting, chairman of Mindray, and his staff visited the new area of Suzhou Municipal Hospital to see its routine management and operation as well as construction of medical capacity.

Among the medical devices donated, M6000 full laboratory intelligent operation line, for example, is the first fully autonomous testing module operation line in China, which integrates four autonomous testing systems of biochemistry, immunology, blood, and coagulation. This device can simplify the testing process and improve efficiency in the case of increasing types of test samples and test quantities; its customizable construction according to the existing equipment and space in a laboratory is more suitable for the actual needs of diagnosis and treatment in primary hospitals.

Facilitate high-quality medical resources accessible to primary hospitals to benefit people‘s livelihood through public medical services

In 2017, Mindray signed a Strategic Agreement on Medical Industry with the People's Government of Suzhou City. Over the past five years, both sides have joined hands to actively promote the construction of the local medical device industry. According to the agreement, Mindray will help and promote the development and improvement of upstream and downstream supporting facilities in the local medical device industry, accelerate the development of high-tech and strategic emerging industries in Suzhou, promote high-quality medical resources accessible to primary hospitals, and help public medical services to benefit people's livelihood.

In recent years, knowledge of first aid has become widespread in Suzhou. In 2017, Mindray donated 100 Automated External Defibrillators
(AEDs) to Suzhou to help the local government build a demonstration project on public medical first aid; in 2020, Mindray helped Suzhou to implement PAD "Golden First Aid” plan by vigorously popularizing the knowledge of first aid, equipping, and promoting the use of AEDs in public places.
