The Chinese State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) recently chose Mindray as a recipient of the 12th biannual "Excellent Patent Award". This is the first time SIPO has given this award, which includes a cash prize, to a company in the medical device industry. Although Mindray has won IP awards at the city and provincial levels in the past, this is the first time Mindray has received a national IP award, which is related to the design of the Beneview T8 patient monitor. This award highlights not only Mindray's continued successful dedication to innovation in both technology and design, but also to Mindray's commitment to a strong IP position.
As SIPO explains:
"The 'China Excellent Patent Award' is the highest and only government award specially for patented inventions and designs in China. Established by the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) in 1989, and recognized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), this biannual award has a significant and positive international impact. The evaluation standard for the award emphasizes not only the level of the patented technology and its degree of innovation, but also considers the process of market transformation and the state of the candidate's IP protection and IP management."
