Vice Premier Liu Yandong of China is paying official visit to South Africa from April 24 to 27 to deepen mutual understanding between the two nations, and to enhance cooperation in areas such as health, education, science and technology.
On the first day of her state visit, Vice Premier Liu attended the China-Africa Ministerial Conference on Health Cooperation themed "From Commitment to Action". Over 30 Health Ministers across Africa, UN officials, WHO officials, and industry representatives discussed the prospect and fruitful practical cooperation between China and Africa during the conference.
During the opening speech, Liu expressed China's willingness to continue health aid and training to Africa. She also encouraged Chinese medical and pharmaceutical companies to come to Africa and bring accessible healthcare to the people here.
