Today’s laboratories, whether big or small, focus on continuous improvement, with quality and efficiency at the heart of what they do.
The evolving healthcare environment is creating more and more challenges for laboratories worldwide, especially for small to mid-sized laboratories. They need to:
The Mindray Standardized Laboratory project is a global initiative with an aim to facilitate the development and growth of small to mid-sized labs worldwide. Through the standardized laboratory initiative, Mindray provides advanced solutions to improve testing quality and equipment management, ensuring more reliable results. Meanwhile, Mindray helps the laboratory to standardize its processes and create a clean, orderly working environment, which leads to a smoother workflow and greater efficiency. This can help the laboratory achieve optimized management and bring high-quality clinical services to the community.
The pathology laboratory of the United Green Hospital in Surat, India, is the first Mindray Standardized Laboratory overseas. The laboratory was looking to implement upgrades with the aim of providing better clinical testing services to the local community, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to the “Mindray Standardized Laboratory” project, the lab is now equipped with Mindray’s advanced IVD equipment and traceability system, which is operated and monitored in accordance with international standards, ensuring reliable results and ultimately providing better services to patients. With the help of standardization, the laboratory has improved quality and efficiency, reducing redundant processes and the possibility of manual errors. The laboratory personnel have also received training from Mindray to enable them to meet the evolving needs of patients.
Dr. Haresh Vastarpara, MD of the United Green Hospital elaborated on the growing need for sophisticated yet affordable diagnostic facilities for the wider general public. He emphasized that diagnosis is the most important step in the entire treatment procedure, playing a vital part in combating the COVID-19 pandemic. With the help of Mindray, the laboratory has now been upgraded to international standards and optimized in all aspects, from sample collection to processing and reporting. SOPs are now laid out at every single step involving sample handling and analysis, instrumentation and its maintenance, documentation, workflow management, and quality control.
The laboratory of the United Green Hospital is more organized after implementing the standardization measures provided by Mindray.
“With the standardization provided by Mindray, we can bring in the latest diagnostic procedures and adhere to best laboratory practice, which in turn helps our lab staff focus more on our patients and improve diagnostic efficiency,” said Dr. Haresh Vastarpara.
