All Labs Matter: Explore Mindray's Philosophy at AACC 2019

Mindray 2019-08-01

Next week from Aug 6-8, the eyes of the global laboratory community will be on Anaheim, California, where the 71st AACC Annual Scientific Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo – the world’s largest exposition for clinical laboratory products and services – takes place. This year, visitors to Mindray booth #1911 at AACC will be introduced to its wide range of laboratory innovations under the theme “All Labs Matter”.

“All Labs Matter” is the guiding principle of Mindray IVD business, which has been driving the company to innovate and develop accessible, high-quality diagnostic solutions for laboratories worldwide, no matter their size, location or needs.

Guided by the philosophy, Mindray understands the unique challenges of every laboratory worldwide and provides customized diagnostic solutions which help improve care delivery.

Located in the city of Vina del Mar, Valparaiso Region, Chile, the Dr. Gustavo Fricke Hospital is a high-standard public hospital belonging to the Vinadel Mar-Quillota Health Service.

As the region’s largest public hospital, it is constantly evolving to meet new challenges, one of which is the large amounts of patient samples. Mindray CAL 8000 Cellular Analysis Line is now being used in the Dr. Gustavo Fricke Hospital, helping its laboratory streamline workflow and enhance efficiency of hematology testing and blood smears.

What makes Bordeaux’s red wine so unique?

The soil, the climate and the fermentation process might all be the answers.

The hundred-year-old Hospital Center of Libourne, one of the largest medical centers in the Bordeaux region, prides itself in its pursuit to provide accurate, reliable test results for every patient that walks in.

The laboratory at the Hospital Center of Libourne maintains a consistently high standard of test results and patient care.

In 2018, the new hospital building was put into use with advanced medical devices, with Mindray’s CAL 8000 Cellular Analysis Line among them. Mindray CAL series’ state-of-the-art diagnostic platform helps clinicians at the Hospital Center of Libourne make sure the care they deliver is fast, accurate and reliable.

The Korle Bu Teaching Hospital is a leading national referral center in Ghana, with an average daily attendance of 1,500 patients and about 250 patient admissions.

For years, Korle Bu had been facing a dilemma – patients who visited the hospital were often referred to other private facilities for lab tests, due to equipment breakdowns affecting its own laboratory services. The outflow not only hurts the hospital’s revenue, but sometimes resulted in inaccurate test results and eventually wrong diagnosis, putting the lives of patients at risk.

In an effort to fully serve its purpose as the premier referral hospital in the country, Korle Bu opened a new lab and entered into partnership with Mindray by bringing in the SAL 6000 Modular System, a high-performance integrated chemistry-immunoassay workstation.

The SAL 6000 has been installed at Korle Bu’s new lab to handle its chemistry & immunology tests.

Serving together with the SAL 6000 at Korle Bu’s new lab are Mindray’s other quality diagnostics products, including the BC-6800 Auto Hematology Analyzer and the C3510 Auto Coagulation Analyzer. Mindray’s total laboratory solution is helping Korle Bu deliver fast, reliable test results for the vast numbers of patients who come to the facility for medical services.

The Institute of Molecular Biosciences of Mahidol University, Thailand, is a renowned research institute dedicated to the advancement of technology in healthcare. The research of thalassemia has been one of its main focuses.

Thalassemia is the most common genetic hematology disorder in Thailand. It is estimated that around 1% of the Thai population has thalassemia disease and each year there are more than 12,000 newborns with thalassemia.

In the face of the increasing challenges posed by Thalassemia, Mindray has been continuously supporting Mahidol University to raise their research level and strengthen disease prevention and control. “We’ve described many syndromes never known in Thalassemia before,” said Dr. Suthat Fucharoen, Professor Emeritus and Consultant of Thalasimia Research Lab, Institute of Molecular Biosciences, Mahidol University.

At Mindray, we place the needs of every laboratory and every customer at the center of what we are doing. That’s why Mindray is committed to understanding the unique challenges of every healthcare facility worldwide, and providing proven, customized medical solutions that lead to better care delivery.
