Medical Minds in Action -- Mindray's Latest Innovations Shine at the 73rd CMEF Shanghai

2015-05-25
Mindray stole the show with 11 of its latest innovations at the 73rd China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF) held May 15-18 at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre in Shanghai. Exhibited at a hefty booth of 1,000 square meters, Mindray's latest innovations demonstrated the company's acute insight into clinical needs and its innovative capabilities in cutting-edge technologies.

One of the highlights of Mindray's products showcased at the fair is its SV300, China's first and the world’s smallest and lightest turbine-based critical care ventilator, which won the 2015 Red Dot Design Award; this is the first time a China-made ventilator has won the world's top product design award. The ventilator is ideal for transport within the hospital and can be used by children and adult patients with all acuity levels at intensive care and intermediate care units; it has received favorable reviews from international hospitals.

"The 11 new products Mindray showcased this time are the highlights of the fair and demonstrate Mindray's innovative capabilities. It's our belief that innovation comes from a deep understanding of the needs of our clients and the market," commented Mr. Cheng Minghe, Mindray's Chief Executive Officer and Chief Strategic Officer.

Other products that have attracted much attention at the fair are Mindray’s DC-8 Exp Diagnostic Ultrasound System, the TE7 Touch Screen Ultrasound System, and the SAL 6000 Modular System, which is the company’s latest in-vitro diagnostic product. The DC-8 Exp, which is supported by mQuadro, Mindray’s high-end ultrasound platform, offers fast and reliable diagnosis, making it an ideal tool for diagnosing technically difficult patients. The SAL 6000 Modular System delivers medium throughput and seamless integration of CL-2000i Chemiluminescence Immunoassay System and BS-800 Modular System. In conjunction with the SPL 1000 Sample Processing System, this scalable platform not only provides optimized workflow, but also offers satisfactory operator experience and can be customized to provide a package solution for medium-sized laboratories and emergency departments.

Three surgical innovations, namely the BeneFusion DS5/CS5 Infusion Supervision Systems, the Hybase8300/8500 Operating Tables, and the GE-200 Video Gastroscope system were among the new products displayed at the fair.

Mr. Cheng said one of Mindray's competitive advantages comes from its diversified product lines and ability to integrate different innovations to provide comprehensive solutions for hospitals. In particular, he shared the story of how an automated external defibrillator (AED) donated by Mindray to the Haikou Meilan International Airport helped save a man’s life.

“Statistics show that more than 500,000 people die from sudden heart attacks in China every year. This is a public health issue that we need to urgently address,” said Mr. Cheng. “With just a little training, even non-medical professionals can operate AEDs to perform emergency rescue to save lives. We are working with health organizations, charities, and corporates to actively promote the widespread use of AEDs.”
